I just saw a commercial for a diesel Chevy Cruze... I only had two beers tonight. Is this real life?

I knew there had to be a catch. I just took an über to a different part of SF to grab some indian food with some pals, the car was a 2013 Passat TDI with the autotragic. Felt faster than the 6-speed one I test drove a few weeks ago.

Moat of the auto rags liked the auto Passat better than the manual one, simply because of the limited rev range, IIRC. I do believe it was faster, as well.

a couple of years ago I drove a 2.0 TDI as a hire car from around Melbourne. One of the Hatchback ones.
Didn't suck.

Test drove one a few months ago. It is terrible! Go stand next to a garbage truck and then stand next to the Cruze. Can you hear any difference in the engine noise? Me either.

The DSG Passat TDI is faster because they extended the gearset on the manual to help it get better mileage.
